For some reason, it can be impossible to see your hidden files with the explorer but you can try to reset the initial state via Regedit
Hidden files use a +h attribute and system files use teh +s, this is besides the point, to return hidden files to view:
1. Open Regedit and find the key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Advanced
2. Set it's value to 1 to see hidden files, set it to 2 to hide these files.
Restart may be needed to take effect.
