Since the introduction of the audio CD in 1983, there are a multitude of 'legends' circulating among consumers: digital storage on these shiny discs do not suffer any problems of old age and wear, phenomena that have caused the slow disappearance of audio and video tapes.
The discs are not only sensitive to the damage and claws, but they do not have an unlimited life, as many CDs suffer a kind of rot.
It is considered that the CDs are held at least 10 years. Some manufacturers even speak of a conservation of a century.
It is disheartening to see that after less than 2 years some CDRs are completely unusable ...
Remember to use High Quality CDR to save your important Data, don't hesitate to use several source to save your files (External hard drive - because the mtbf (minimum time before failure) is between 300,000 to 1,200,000 hours not to bad no?) Web servers or any other method you can think about.
